Can you believe it? It is almost time to decorate for Christmas. (if you haven’t already)

Pine boughs, twinkle lights and Santa Claus are all unmistakable marks of the Christmas holiday. In true southeast fashion we have decided to put a list together of our favorite Coastal Christmas décor ideas.

1 | Ocean Inspired Hues

Ocean blues are a natural shade to bring into a coastal themed holiday. While maybe an unexpected color, the aquatic tones bring a fresh, clean and inviting tone to your living room.

2 | Natural Accents

Don’t be afraid to accent your driftwood or other natural pieces with a display of wintery greens and candles. This is an easy way to blur the lines between “Christmas Cheer” and “Beachy Charm”.

3 | Add Some Sparkle

We often get lost in the ocean hues and forget how the sand and waves glisten in the sunlight. Grab some shimmering trees or other shiny items to add some beachy glitz.

4 | A Coastal Welcome

Trade in your faux pine wreath that you typically hang on the front door for a coastal wreath. Simply add a some ornaments, greenery or sea shells to embrace the Christmas cheer.

5 | Tropical Greens

Who said green accents have to be pine? Faux island plants, like palm fronds or bamboo leaves, are a unique departure from the usual seasonal greens. Rest them on a console table next to a piece of driftwood decorated in tiny ornaments, or place them artfully among your other holiday items.

6 | Beach Bowl

Grab a coastal inspired bowl and fill it with your ocean toned ornaments. A coastal bowl reinforces the home’s seaside theme. There are lots of other ideas for beach-meets-Christmas filler, such as small wooden floats and jingle bells, sea glass and mini snowflakes and seashells and cable knit-covered balls.
